Student life at Wahroonga Adventist School is shaped by care, belonging, faith and purpose.
Because parents want to know their child will be supported, included, and guided by strong values as they grow, our Christian foundation shapes how students are cared for, how relationships are built, and how young people are encouraged to develop character, compassion, and respect for others.
Beyond the classroom, students have opportunities to build friendships, discover interests, serve, lead, and grow in confidence through wellbeing support, co-curricular opportunities, camps, excursions, and student leadership.
Wellbeing
Wellbeing at Wahroonga Adventist School begins with relationships.
Students are supported by teachers who know them, guide them, and care for their development. Through pastoral care, chaplaincy, counselling, peer support and house systems, students are encouraged to feel connected, supported and known throughout their school journey.
Faith is an important part of student wellbeing. As a Christian school, Wahroonga Adventist School encourages students to develop values shaped by the life and character of Jesus. This is expressed through chapel, Bible classes, service, and the way students are encouraged to treat others with compassion, respect, integrity and responsibility.
Chaplains provide support to students, staff, and families regardless of their faith. Their role includes offering a listening ear, mentoring students, supporting social and emotional wellbeing, strengthening community connection, and providing opportunities for spiritual reflection and growth.
Counselling support is also available for students who may need help with concerns such as friendships, learning challenges, grief, bullying, stress or family matters.
Together, these supports help students feel cared for, build resilience, and engage positively in school life.
Co-curricular
Co-curricular opportunities help students explore their interests, develop their talents, and participate more fully in school life.
At Wahroonga Adventist School, students are encouraged to take part in activities that foster confidence, creativity, teamwork, perseverance, and a sense of belonging. These experiences give students meaningful ways to grow beyond the classroom and discover what they enjoy.

Through co-curricular involvement, students can build friendships, try new things, develop skills, and contribute to the wider life of the school. Whether they are creating, performing, competing, serving or participating as part of a team, students are encouraged to make the most of the opportunities available to them.
We also provide a range of extra-curricular activities where parents can enrol children in after school activities like chess, taekwondo, dance, art club, etc. Music tutoring is also available during school hours. Extra-curricular activities are at an additional cost.
Sport is also an important part of student life, with opportunities for students to participate, compete, develop teamwork, and enjoy healthy challenges through school sports, carnivals, gala days, and representative pathways.
Our Basketball Academy has been a success with over 18 teams competing in various competitions. Before- and after-school coaching and training are facilitated by our talented coaches.
Camps & Excursions
Camps are held from years 5-12, and excursions across all grades provide valuable opportunities for students to learn beyond the classroom.
These shared experiences help students build independence, strengthen friendships, and develop confidence in new environments. They also give students opportunities to practice responsibility, teamwork, and resilience while connecting their learning to the world around them.
Camps and excursions support the broader goal of helping students grow as whole people. Through new experiences, students are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity, connection, and character.
Student Leadership
Student leadership helps young people grow in responsibility, confidence, and service.
At Wahroonga Adventist School, leadership is closely connected to character. Students are encouraged to consider how their actions can support others, strengthen community and reflect our school values of respect, responsibility, compassion and integrity.
Leadership opportunities may include contributing through music, sport, service activities, chapel involvement, mentoring, and school community life. Senior students also have opportunities to encourage and support younger students, helping build connections across the school.
Through leadership and service, students are supported in developing maturity, initiative, and a stronger sense of purpose.
