Primary School
The Primary years are an important time in a child’s development, shaping the foundations for future learning, confidence and character.
At Wahroonga Adventist School, students are supported in developing a love of learning within a caring, Christ-centred environment where they are known, encouraged and challenged to grow. As they progress through Primary School, children build strong academic foundations while also growing in confidence, responsibility, relationships and a deeper sense of belonging.
Our Learning Program
Our Primary learning program is designed to help students grow with confidence, curiosity and purpose.
Students build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and core subject areas through purposeful learning experiences that foster understanding, creativity, and steady academic progress. Learning is designed to be engaging, supportive and appropriately challenging, helping each child continue to develop the skills and habits needed for long-term success.
At Wahroonga Adventist School, learning is not only about what students know, but also about who they are becoming. Alongside academic development, students are encouraged to grow in responsibility, character, confidence and care for others within a faith and values-rich integrated learning environment.
As part of a Prep to Year 12 school, students also benefit from a connected learning journey where relationships, continuity and support remain important throughout each stage of their education.
Our purpose is to Reveal Jesus through the everyday life of the school. In Primary School, this is expressed through daily prayer, Bible classes, weekly chapel services, service opportunities and intentional teaching about Christlike values. Students are encouraged to show kindness, respect, integrity, compassion and responsibility in the way they learn, play, serve and relate to others.

Every child learns differently, and we recognise the importance of helping each student learn at their point of need.
Learning enrichment in Primary School provides opportunities for students to be both supported and extended in their learning. Whether a child needs targeted support, additional encouragement, or greater challenge, our approach is designed to help each student continue to grow with confidence.
By knowing students well and responding to their individual strengths and needs, we aim to create a learning environment where children feel capable, supported and encouraged to do their best.
Technology in Learning
Technology is used in Primary School to support learning in thoughtful and purposeful ways.
At Wahroonga Adventist School, digital tools are used to enhance creativity, communication, engagement and learning across the curriculum. Technology is introduced in age-appropriate ways, helping students develop confidence with digital tools while keeping the focus on meaningful learning.
This balanced approach supports students as they begin to build the knowledge and skills needed for an increasingly AI-dominated and digital world, while still valuing the importance of collaboration, critical thinking, face-to-face interaction and active learning.
