Scholarships for Year 7, 2027
Wahroonga Adventist School is pleased to advise that Year 7 scholarships for entry in 2027 are now open to new and existing school students.
Scholarships are open to permanent residents of Australia only. If a Scholarship is offered to a student who is not yet enrolled at the school, written acceptance of the scholarship must be accompanied by a completed Enrolment Application process including payment of the associated fees (non-refundable application fee of $200 and non-refundable acceptance fee of $1000).

The School offers three academic scholarships that cover 50% of tuition fees. The scholarships awarded will follow through from Year 7 to Year 10. Students will have the opportunity to apply for a Year 11 and 12 Academic Scholarship when they are in Year 10. Scholarships do not cover textbooks, uniforms, excursions, technology fees, individual subject fees or co-curricular activities.
All applicants for this scholarship must register to sit the ACER examination to be held at Wahroonga Adventist School on Friday, 6 March 2026. During registration applicants will also be asked to supply their Year 5 NAPLAN Report and Year 5 Semester 2 School Report.
The exam fee is $140 and is due at the time of registration. The closing date for registration is Tuesday, 24 February 2026. Late registrations will not be accepted.

Students will have the opportunity to apply for a Year 9 & 10 or Year 11 & 12 Music Scholarship in the year prior to entry into that grade. Scholarships do not cover textbooks, uniforms, excursions, technology fees, individual subject fees or co-curricular activities.
All applicants for this scholarship must register to sit the ACER examination to be held at Wahroonga Adventist School on Friday, 6 March 2026. During registration applicants will also be asked to supply their Year 5 NAPLAN Report and Year 5 Semester 2 School Report, along with a written reference from the music tutor of their preferred instrument.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to audition in late Term 1.
Criteria for Selection:
To be eligible, a minimum AMEB grade, or equivalent is required on one of the following instruments:
- Woodwind or Brass Instrument: Grade 4
- String Instrument: Grade 7
- Piano: Grade 7
- Percussion: Grade 4 (tuned and untuned)
- Vocal: excellent abilities are encouraged to apply
Expectations:
Scholarship recipients will be expected to:
- Have private tuition in their chosen instrument.
- Be involved in the co-curricular music program as follows:
- Strings: Orchestra and String Ensemble
- Brass/Percussion/Woodwind: Orchestra and Band
- Vocal: Choir and Chapel Band
- Maintain academic rigor (no late submissions).
- Demonstrate exemplary behaviour.
Audition:
Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to audition. At the audition, applicants will be asked to perform two contrasting pieces and a scale of their own choosing. An accompanist will be provided. Further details will be shared with the shortlisted applicants.

The school offers one basketball scholarship that covers 50% of tuition. The scholarship is designed to recognise and support talented young women who demonstrate exceptional basketball ability, commitment, and potential for growth within the sport. The scholarship is awarded for Years 7 and 8, with the opportunity to reapply for continued support in Years 9 & 10 and Years 11 & 12.
Scholarships do not cover textbooks, uniforms, excursions, technology fees, individual subject fees. There will be partial basketball related costs that will be subsidised.
All shortlisted applicants for this scholarship must submit the supporting documents, including:
- A record of recent sporting achievements and participation in club or representative basketball.
- A reference from a current basketball coach outlining the applicant’s ability, work ethic, and character.
- 2 full game videos of their highest level played in 2025.
Shortlisted candidates will also be invited to attend a skills assessment and interview in Term 1, 2026, where applicants will demonstrate technical ability, game awareness, and teamwork skills.
Criteria for Selection:
To be considered, applicants should demonstrate:
- Strong fundamental basketball skills and understanding of the game.
- A history of participation in school, club, or representative-level basketball.
- A commitment to training, teamwork, and continual improvement.
- High standards of academic effort and personal conduct.
Expectations:
Scholarship recipients will be expected to:
- Represent the School in basketball competitions and gala days.
- Participate fully in training sessions and maintain fitness throughout the year.
- Exhibit leadership, sportsmanship, and respect on and off the court.
- Maintain academic rigour and uphold the school’s behavioural expectations.

Financial Assistance Scholarships
Seventh-day Adventist Schools (Greater Sydney) Ltd operates a Deductible Gift Fund for its Scholarship Program. Generous funds are received from Seventh-day Adventist churches, school communities and individuals for the purpose of supporting students in Adventist Schools in Sydney. Scholarships are awarded annually to students who face financial hardship in coming to our schools, by paying their tuition fees.
Applications for 2027 Financial Assistance Scholarships will open mid 2026.
